Summary
Stoddard Peak is one of several peaks that forms the high walls of San Antonio Canyon. The hike starts on Barrett-Stoddard Road. I followed the road past some cabins to reach a vehicle gate. Beyond the gate, the road continues to climb toward Stoddard Peak. |
On the summit. |
The road elevates to a high point while crossing in and out of the forest canopy. At this elevated point in the road, I left the trail to access the summit trail. This narrow trail climbs above the road and up the ridge. After a few false summits, the actual Peak gets reached. |
A collection of summit signs to choose from. |
There are good views over the populated valley, over San Antonio Canyon, and the nearby surrounding peaks (a few or which are higher). On this current visit, the summit was enshrouded in fog. So I missed out on all the views. |
